The Abuja School of Nursing (FCT) Admission Form 2024/2024 released online | (FCT) School of Nursing Admission form has been released for 2024/2024 Application, Requirements & Guidelines.
The Admission Management of the Abuja School of Nursing has released the Admission Form for 2024/2024 Academic year online. Applicants must obtain at least a D (4) in six subjects. In addition, they must have passes in 3 subjects, one of the passes should be Grade D or better at the ´A´ Levels.
About the School of Nursing
- The school’s authorities are the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Health and Human Services Secretariat, Nursing Department of FCTA and Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja acts as the sole proprietor of the school through the Health and Human Services secretariat (HHSS)/Nursing Department, the FCTA interprets and executes government and Nursing Council programs and policies as it is related to nursing manpower development in FCT.
- Other organs of the government, it recruits, promotes and provides staff emolument in addition to providing training facilities for the school.
- The FCTA also appoints the administrative head of the institution and his/her deputy.
FCT School of Nursing Requirements and Eligibility
- This is admission into the Basic Nursing Program which after completion will award students RN – Registered Nurse.
- The school admits candidates for two different programs yearly. The 3-year basic nursing program which starts in September is meant for secondary school leavers (holders of WAEC and NECO).
- Hence, candidates must have at least 5 credit passes in WAEC, GCE or NECO in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology (not more than two sittings). NABTEB result is not acceptable for NURSING admission.
- The SSCE results should not exceed 10 years from the date of sitting for the examination.
- Applicants will be required to partake in the entrance examination and oral interview for those who pass the entrance examination which is organized and conducted by the HHSS/nursing department.
- Candidates who score the desired entry points from the aforementioned assessments are selected for admission into the program(s).
- The basic general nurse training is a general course open to young males and females of not less than 17 years of age at the time of admission (September).
- Application for admission into the Basic Nursing Program, 2024 academic year is ongoing and closes 8th June 2024.
Admission Terms, Method of Application and Payment
- Candidates wishing to obtain the forms should show evidence of payment of a Not refundable fee of 5,000.00 (Five Thousand Naira) only.
- Forms can be obtained at Room 080, FCT HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECRETARIAT, NURSING DEPARTMENT, AREA 11, GARKI-ABUJA.
- Candidates wishing to obtain the forms should show evidence of payment of Non-refundable fee of N5,000.00 (Five Thousand Naira) only into: Bank: FCMB, Account Name: HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECRETARIAT REVENUE ACCOUNT, Account No: 3402015028
- Payment Teller must be Stamped after paying N200 Cash on collection of form
- Completed forms are to be returned to the Principal, FCT School of Nursing, Gwagwalada on or before 8th June 2024.
- Candidates will be allocated to examination centers based on their application IDs. Entrance Examination Schedule will be communicated in due course
VERIFICATION OF RESULT
All the results presented by students on admission will be verified on admission by the school and any student found to possess forged or the unauthenticated result will be expelled.
Registration and School Fees Payment
- Registration of new students usually lasts for a month from the day of resumption.
- On the first day of registration, students are expected to show evidence of payment of school fees as stipulated in the admission letter.
- When collecting admission letters students are made to sign an undertaking that will be placed in their personal files as well as present the originals of their credentials.
- Students are expected to make other payments which include; uniform, a record of training booklet, examination, and stationeries, handbook, harmonized code of ethics for nurses in Nigeria etc.
- No student will be registered without the full payment of fees.
- Payment of school fees at a later date by students or sponsors will under no circumstances be entertained.
- Students are strongly advised to receive all fees from their sponsors before the registration days expire as defaulters will be ejected at the expiration of the last day of the exercise.
- No students will be registered with any information different from the one he/she gained admission with unless substantial evidence has been forwarded to and approved by the principal.
- All students are required to complete the forms given to them. The approved training regulations and hostel regulation forms must be thoroughly read and understood and students must append their signature indicating their acceptance of all the contents therein.
- A compulsory medical fitness examination must be carried out in government-approved health institutions on each student. The result must be submitted to the school and it must also come along with a medical fitness certificate and chest X-ray film.
- An orientation program is organized by the 2nd week of the registration process. It lasts for one week and all students (new) are expected to attend compulsorily.
- During the orientation exercise, the principal introduces formally the teaching staff and other key officers to the new students; for the purpose of familiarization and offers advice to be of good behavior.
- Note that subsequent payment of school fees is made during the course of the training; basic student nurses in the month of November annually and post-basic student nurses in the month of March annually.
Checking Admission Status
After taking part in the exams, applicants can check their admission status to know if they are lucky and proceed with the interview as instructed.
