Updated on 6 November 2026 · How we verify
Quick answer: The JAMB CAPS Marketplace lets institutions with unfilled places search for candidates who were not admitted by their first choice and make them offers. You appear automatically once your first choice has not admitted you; you can also list yourself. Each consideration shows on CAPS as an offer you accept or reject — accepting one usually requires a change of institution to that school.

How the Marketplace works
- Institutions filter candidates by score, state, gender and programme after their first-choice processing.
- A ‘consideration’ appears on your CAPS dashboard (up to three at a time).
- Accept the one you want; JAMB then requires you to change institution to it (₦2,500) and the school completes processing.
- Reject considerations you do not want so other candidates can be considered.
Tips
- Keep your O’Level results uploaded — institutions filter on them.
- Check CAPS at least twice a week between August and December.
- Consider polytechnics and colleges of nursing sciences with lower floors if your score is modest.
- Do not pay anyone claiming to ‘push’ your name on the Marketplace; the process is free.
