Updated on 6 November 2026 · How we verify
Quick answer: JAMB change of course/institution costs ₦2,500 (plus ₦200 at a CBT centre) and is done on efacility.jamb.gov.ng (or at an accredited CBT centre) once JAMB opens the portal after results — 15 May in 2026. It stays open until your target institution’s CAPS deadline. Change your institution to the one whose post-UTME you want to write, and your course to one your subject combination supports.

When to do a change of course or institution
- Your score is below your first-choice school’s cut-off but above another school’s.
- You want to write a school’s post-UTME but did not pick it as first choice.
- Your subject combination does not match the course you chose.
- You have been offered admission by a Marketplace institution and must move your first choice to it.
How to change course or institution on JAMB portal
- Log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng and click Change of Course/Institution.
- Generate the payment and pay ₦2,500 (plus ₦200 at a CBT centre) (card, USSD, Remita).
- Select the new institution and/or course. Check the JAMB brochure (IBASS) so the course accepts your UTME subjects and O’Level.
- Submit and print the confirmation slip. The change reflects on CAPS within 24–48 hours.
- Buy the new school’s post-UTME form before its deadline — most screen first-choice candidates only.
Rules and limits
- Each change attracts the fee; you can change more than once but every change is charged.
- You cannot change your UTME subjects or your score — only institution and course.
- Data corrections (name, date of birth, state) are a separate service at ₦2,500 per item.
- Direct Entry candidates use the same service for DE choices.
