Updated on 6 November 2026 · How we verify
Quick answer: The JAMB brochure (now the IBASS — Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System) lists every accredited course, the institutions that offer it, the UTME subject combination, O’Level requirements, Direct Entry requirements and institution-specific remarks. Check it before registration: a wrong subject combination or an unaccredited course cannot be fixed later.

How to use IBASS
- Open the JAMB IBASS portal or app (linked from jamb.gov.ng).
- Search by course or institution.
- Read: UTME subjects, O’Level requirements, DE requirements, and the ‘Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks’ where the institution lists its own exceptions.
- Confirm the programme is listed under the institution for the current year.
What candidates miss
- Institution-specific remarks (e.g. a university requiring a credit in Mathematics for Mass Communication).
- Courses listed for UTME only (no DE) or DE only.
- New institutions/programmes added mid-year.
