JAMB Regularization 2026: Who Needs It, Fee & How to Do It Online

Posted on November 6, 2026

Updated on 6 November 2026 · How we verify

Quick answer: JAMB regularization is for candidates admitted without going through JAMB (or whose admission was not captured on CAPS) — typically part-time, sandwich, distance-learning or older admissions. It gives you a JAMB registration number and admission letter, which NYSC and employers require. It is done on efacility.jamb.gov.ng (Regularization) with a condonement fee and the institution’s approval.

Who needs regularization

  • Admitted into a degree/ND/NCE programme without a JAMB registration number for that year.
  • Admitted through a school’s internal process not captured on CAPS before 2017.
  • Part-time/sandwich students who need a JAMB letter for NYSC exemption or mobilisation.
  • NOTE: NOUN replaced JAMB regularisation with an acceptance fee (₦7,500) from January 2025 for its students.

Steps

  1. Log in or create a profile at efacility.jamb.gov.ng and click Regularization.
  2. Fill in the institution, programme, year of admission and personal details; pay the service charge.
  3. Print the indemnity/application form and submit it to your institution’s admissions office for endorsement.
  4. The institution uploads your details to JAMB; once approved, print your JAMB admission letter.

Regularization does not legalise an admission that violated JAMB rules (e.g. below cut-off, outside CAPS after 2017). The 2026 policy meeting and JAMB’s October 2026 directive make clear that only CAPS admissions are valid for NYSC.
