Updated on 6 November 2026 · How we verify
Quick answer: NMU releases post-UTME/screening results on its own admission portal (nmu.edu.ng), not on the JAMB website. Log in with your JAMB registration number to see your score; the school then computes an aggregate (typically UTME + screening + O’Level) to rank candidates for the admission list.

Where the admission cycle stands (November 2026):

How to check your NMU post-UTME result
- Go to the NMU admission/screening portal: https://www.nmu.edu.ng/.
- Click Post-UTME Result / Check Screening Result.
- Enter your JAMB registration number (and, where requested, the surname or password you created when you bought the form).
- Your screening score is displayed; download or print the slip. Some schools charge a small result-checking fee — pay only through the portal.
How NMU calculates your aggregate
Nigerian institutions use one of two common models. Many universities weight UTME 50% + post-UTME 50%; others use UTME 50% + O’Level 30% + screening 20%. For schools that no longer conduct a written test, the aggregate is UTME 50% + O’Level 50%, with A1 = 10 points down to C6 = 5 for the best five relevant subjects.
| Component (50/50 model) | Worked example |
|---|---|
| UTME score ÷ 8 | e.g. 240 ÷ 8 = 30 |
| Post-UTME (out of 100) ÷ 2 | e.g. 60 ÷ 2 = 30 |
| Aggregate | 30 + 30 = 60.0 |
What happens after the post-UTME result
- NMU ranks candidates per course by aggregate and quota, then uploads offers to JAMB CAPS.
- Check your CAPS admission status and the NMU admission list regularly.
- Accept the offer on CAPS, print your admission letter and pay the acceptance fee before the deadline.

Verify before you pay or act: Only the school portal shows your official screening score; third-party sites cannot see it. The only authoritative source for NMU is nmu.edu.ng and the school’s official notice boards. If a figure here differs from what the school publishes, the school is right.
Frequently asked questions
Is the NMU post-UTME result for 2026/2027 out?
Results are released on the NMU portal usually within a few weeks of screening. Check the portal with your JAMB registration number; this page is updated when the school announces release.
Can I check my NMU post-UTME result on the JAMB portal?
No. JAMB does not host institutional screening results. Only your admission status (after the school processes it) appears on JAMB CAPS.
What is a good post-UTME score for NMU?
Above 60/100 is competitive for most courses; Medicine, Law, Pharmacy and Nursing typically need 70+ combined with a high UTME score.
I failed the NMU post-UTME. What can I do?
You cannot retake it for the same session, but you may be considered for a less competitive course, use the JAMB CAPS Marketplace, or change institution.
Does the post-UTME result mean I am admitted?
No. It is only one input. Admission is confirmed when your name appears on JAMB CAPS and you accept the offer.
